No more Barbie toes.

Can I just say that I’m not a “foot person?” Ask anyone, feet have always weirded me out. But as much as I’ve wanted to avoid thinking about them, the truth is that our feet are the foundation of everything we do. From balance and movement to overall wellness, healthy feet are vital to how we function every single day. And let's be real—modern shoes aren’t doing us any favors.

Take a look at the shoes most people wear today. They’re narrow, pointed at the toe, and force all five toes into a cramped space. Over time, this unnatural position can lead to foot deformities like bunions, poor balance, and even joint issues higher up the body. Sure, modern shoes look great, but they’re a recipe for discomfort and long-term problems.

I discovered barefoot shoes over 13 years ago, and they’ve completely changed how I view foot health. Unlike traditional footwear, barefoot shoes are designed to let your toes splay naturally, improving balance, athletic performance, and foot flexibility. They allow your feet to function as they’re meant to—strong, mobile, and supportive. Think about how a baby’s foot looks: wide, flat, and unrestricted. Barefoot shoes help bring our feet closer to their natural shape and function.

I'll be regularly updating this page with new barefoot information, so keep checking back (or sign up for our newsletter) if you'd like to learn more. For now, check out my Top Picks for Barefoot Kicks here.
